Viehla
After Girona, we drove to Viehla in the Aran valley area, just before the border with France in the Northeast of Spain. It’s a beautiful mountain town, surrounded by mountains. We did our normal touristy wandering, and also fit in two long hikes. One, starting from in town, was a lot more elevation than we thought we were signing up for, but gave us some nice views of the valley and a few of the nearby towns. The second was very intentional, heading up to walk the circle of 7 lakes. It’s about a 4 mile hike with lots of ups and downs, but we managed to add 6 miles to that by starting at a parking lot lower down the mountain.
